After wasting the morning upstream of Ellicott City, I find this jewel.

One last shot at the Pamunkey to see if it would be more productive downstream of Rt 301
The Mattaponi is not wadeable – you need a canoe or other boat
This turned out to be a big waste of time
I only had an hour or so to spend here. This spot is nice and needs much more time than that.

The downstream section of the Pamunkey looks a bit better than the upstream section.
The Pamunkey jolted us within 10 minutes of our arrival.
Bull Run Creek is at the edge of Manassas at the upper reaches of the Occoquan Water Trail
The North Anna River is surprisingly good for smallies
The Maury just looks too good. I had to stop here and fish.
