Looking for trophy trout? Don’t look here.
Maybe this place is OK right after stocking, but it was a narrow, shallow mess in September when I visited.
Very pretty section. Tough fishing in the middle of summer
The crowded parking lot might put you off, but the creek is just a stone’s throw away
It’s a drive, but it’s worth it.
A first class trout, er, sunfish stream…
Another great river… but it’s road fishing again… the difference is promise.
The north section of the Bullpasture is a bit of a disappointment
Irish Creek is bad news – road fishing at it’s worst.
This place is pocket water on steriods with one drawback – it’s road fishing…
The North River stretches for several miles – nice looking water
South River near the SNP is “road fishing”
We enjoyed three miles of decent brook trout water. Not as good as some of the water in the SNP, but worth the trip
Tough call on how to get to the Hazel. The evidence seems to indicate that you can park and walk in from the south without trespassing.
What looked good on the map, looked bad on the ground.
Cedar Run – tough going with a jewel at the top
The middle section of the upper Rose River lives up to my high hopes
Another Shenandoah treasure – great water, plenty of trout
Easy walk, deep pools… this one is a winner
I thought the Rose was good until I saw the upper Hughes…
Jeremy’s Run – a winner or a loser?
Passage Creek has a good reputation… what did I find?
SPECTACULAR!!! Walk in from Skyline and get to work.
This is written up in all the Virgina books on fishing – but I think it is a loser.
We had heard good things about Cedar Creek, but was it accessible?
Quantico sports a trout stream, but is it worth messing with?
The lower Dry River paralleling Route 33 is heavily fished – but the upper holds more promise…
Buffalo Creek promises trophy trout… does it deliver?
The middle Conway River is an enticing network of pocket water – full of productive holes
Wide and Remote….We made the trek out to the Jackson River in August – was it worthwhile?
Anxious to start fishing – headed out to look at some water that I had not been to yet
