There are a few things you can do if the tip of your fly line keeps sinking and ruining the drift of your fly. This is something that is more likely to happen in turbulence or a fast current.
You can do is put some paste floatant on the tip of your fly line or the first part of your leader.
If paste does not work, put a small indicator on – like the one in the picture – near the tip of your fly line. Don’t put it on the fly line itself, but on the leader.
The only caution is that you should make sure you can get enough of the line retrieved to be able to touch the fish. If you use a long leader, you may find that fish is just out of reach as the indicator catches in the rod tip.
There are other, smaller versions of this you can use.
