Quick Tenkara tip.
For those of you who use Tenkara rods, you have already discovered how flexible they can be. Specifically, if you run into a tight spot, it’s easy to collapse a few sections to shorten the overall length of the rod. The problem is that you have to grip the rod at the top of the handle to hold both the handle and the remaining extended sections of the rod.
My solution is to wrap a very short piece of duct tape around the handle of the rod just above the cork. Then, when I need to collapse the rod, I take the duct tape and wrap it around the rod where you would have held it before.
Now you can cast normally with the duct tape serving the purpose that your hand used to. This allows you to maintain the balance rod and have a better time.
