Even if you are not old enough to be interested in kayaking for seniors, you need a personal rescue beacon that is designed as a waterproof search and rescue beacon. The possibility of emergency rescue is not unknown and you need to think about it and include either a SPOT, InReach, ACR rescue beacon, or VHR radio with GPS as part of your kayak setup.
