If you are going to harvest a fish while kayak fishing, this is the best way to keep fish fresh on kayak. While I never would keep any freshwater fish, I do harvest one redfish periodically. Rather than keep the fish on a stringer, I harvest the fish by bleeding them out and then follow the approach my friend showed me in this video. I pop the catch into a dollar store cool bag – perfect for keeping a large redfish up to 25 inches in size.
