An easy DIY kayak anchor setup improvement is to create a hanger to hold your kayak anchor. This solution gets the anchor off the floor of the kayak where it can bang and scare fish. Back when I had a sit-inside fishing kayak I did not like having my anchor in front of me when fishing for two reasons – it might tangle around my legs if I dump the boat, and since I have a sit-inside model, the water does not drain out, creating a mess. Here is a simple approach to making an anchor hanger that solves both those problems.
