CAUTION – Unresolved Kings Grant Issues! It seems like every landowner on the Jackson below the dam is arguing for a claim of ownership. Until this is all sorted out, I strongly recommend you avoid that section of the river. Fish in Hidden Valley only.

This is a nice stocked lake west of Harrisonburg.
No water at the lower entrance
The farther up you go, the better it gets.
No pressure… great fish… hard to get to
Could be better farther upstream… but we did catch 8+” brookies here
The first intersection with the river downstream of the dam is a popular spot.
The South River downstream from the Festival skunks me… but you might do better.
The middle part of the Conway River, above Devil’s Ditch, is skinny water with scattered pools.
Focus on Big Run… skip Rocky Mountain Run
Ok… need to throw a trout bone to the trout guys in the middle of this hot summer..
